My House

Here is a view of the house, the lot is on a corner, there is parking to the left also (in the back) which makes it nice and have double space in front so can have the car and pick-up side by side and not have to keep jockeying them in front of each other, or just put the pick-up in the back driveway. BUT don't think either space is long enough in the back or wide enough in the front to accommodate the RV. Oh well, it is happy in Madras and less snow there too. Going to get rid of the large bushes on the end of the house eventually. Thinking of putting in space for the RV there, maybe? would have to re-do the curbing tho :( Just thinking.
The bunch of flowers i put in the front are changing all the time, color gets different and little ones pop out and the older ones get darker, but think they are still pretty.
Great Sunday!!!

Fellow Bloggers

Spent a wonderful afternoon in conversation with fellow bloggers Carol and Dave of "Carol K's Journey" They are spending a week in the Redmond area, called me and we got together for some chatting and swapping stories.
Nice, nice people.
It is HOT in Redmond this week end, in the 90's and the RV park by the fairgrounds has no trees! Why not? It is weird, one would think they would put in some shade for goodness sake. Supposed to get into the 80's later in the week. There was a nice breeze tho.
Altho this does leave it wide open for satellite reception i gather.
Luci behaved herself during the visit, no barking or going to the bathroom in inappropriate places :)

Cutest

Isn't this the cutest thing? My friend had one that was a cat, I think it would be doubly cute were it a Dachshund!!
And these Honeysuckle smelled SO good!!!! I want one!! Have one at the other house, but don't know that i could transplant it yet again :)
Friend Carol and i went to a Stampin Up Garage sale, had to get up at 7am :( to be 1st in line, geez. And of course i found things i could not live without... These pictures were taken in her yard. Altho we live in a desert here, some people DO make it bloom....
Went to some stores to see if i was missing anything, in the way of furniture, no i wasn't , thank heavens. but did get some yummy brioche at Sparrow Bakery!!
Take Care all, wish i could share the brioche!!!!

Look Who Found My New Hat!

OMG, this was so funny!! Surprised he let me take a picture, but then he does not know i am going to put it on a blog :-) Thought he looks like the una-bomber.... or a homeless person
Got my shelves from the craft room and installed them in the little sun porch, that keeps getting littler... It was a productive day....

New Hat!!!

Carol, my friend in Iowa made me a hat!!!
So here i sit in my chair with my new hat on!
LOVE my hat, Thank You SO much Carol. Do i look "goofy"?
It is always nice to get something in the mail other than bills, and something that shows someone was thinking of me!!

Today i picked up all the piles of weeds i have been pulling, loaded it all in the back of the pick up and took myself to the dump!! Hacked up some tree sprouts too. Then went around with some white paint and tried to get all the yellow and green paint off the ceiling, where i had 'goofed'. It cooled down this afternoon and there is a nice breeze going thru the house, still have clear skies, some puffy clouds. It was really nice out at the dump :-) Really great view of all the mountains.
Have a Great day All!!!

Bookcase

Got the bookcase up. This may not be alot to some, but it is a major accomplishment for me. When i have a problem, i have to think it through and figure out how to go about it. I had 12 boxes of books sitting in the living room. Had to get them out of the garage to make room for other things :) So they were living in the living room. Good place, but in the way and not where they belonged! I had the bookcase in the other house, but it was not attached to the wall, the guy that put it in said it was not going anywhere with all of those books on it. But it leaned away from the wall a couple inches!!! and i always feared it would topple over. It could!
So, a way had to be figured out to hook it to the wall. It had a back, but just a flimsy piece of something, that fell off in the transport and decided i wanted it off anyway, liked it better that way, and that little backing was not going to keep it hooked to the wall. I needed "L" bracket with screws. AND i needed to find a stud to put it into!!! Was tired of pounding in nails and it would just go into drywall and not be sturdy. Off to Lowe's i took myself. Got a stud finder and the guy told me how it operated, they even have ones out as demo, so you can see how it is supposed to work. I read directions, and then took a while to figure out all the little ways it would or would not work. BUT long to short is that i found the studs, got the bookcase up there sturdy, then loaded it with books. I had gotten rid of many of them in this move and the one before also, and have been trying to NOT save ALL i get, they have to meet some pretty heavy requirements now to get a spot on my shelf. The Kindle has helped with that too. BUT i have to have books, still buy them, but am being much more selective. Is it one i think i will really need to keep forever or can i get it on the Kindle and just enjoy as i read? Don't have to have or hold or keep it forever.
SO, have gotten rid of many of the boxes by getting the china cupboard and the books in their proper places. I am happy. Things are coming together..... and not laying about
Now for all that craft/stamping stuff..... :(

One thing

Forgot to mention that it leaves no residue either, just a smooth smell good newness is left. I mean it is not sticky and you do not have to rub it in or off. just looks and feels like a new shelf!!

This is a special blog :-) hahaha.... if you can read the blurry photos. The Tibet Almond Stick is a wonderful thing!!! My friend DeeDee had it and used it on my china cabinet when i moved in, but remembered it AFTER i had already loaded up all the shelves and i was not going to take out things and use it on the shelves and this was the time to use it.
BUT first a couple weeks ago i looked them up online and sent them a statement about how wonderful it had made the outside of the cabinet look, they wrote me back and wanted to use my testament in their ads and thought i needed my own stick and sent me one, was that not the nicest thing? Well they certainly have a customer for life, the stick is only $3!!! So it is not an outlandish investment to make your cherished items or woodwork look nice! And look at the difference in the before and after pics!!! It works so wonderful and smells good too!

Got the china cabinet together. I always have to pack it up myself and carry the pieces in my car, unpack, then place into the cabinet, so nothing gets broken. The cabinet came from my maternal grand parents, Wallaces. Also many of the special dishes in it. Oh and the crummy white chair, that has always been in my bedroom, even as a child. Was going to sand it down and re-paint, but could not bring myself to do it, probably silly, but that is the way i feel, all the chips go with me.
And i have these pictures reversed. the one below is the before pic and the one above is the after, "after" using the Tibet Almond Stick!!! Are u not impressed, I ask you??? Same exact shelf!!!!!

Can't have a blog without some flowers! There lupines were at the RV park in Sisters when we were there. Never saw this color before and they were so pretty, It is called the Sisters/Bend Garden RV and they are really working on their garden areas.
Have just been busy doing stuff, did the hair thing, i was getting so shaggy and hairy. Still moving, basically all out of the house, so just have to get the outside stuff and out of the garage, have no idea where i am going to put all the rest, but where there is a will there is a way, right?? Right!!!

Weird Poppy

This is a weird poppy in my yard! It only lasts for a day at most, then you have those huge pods. But they look rather ethereal, don't they ? or other worldly, spacey... :-) but very pretty, like the soft colors...

well

Today got another load of 'stuff', then unloaded. This moving thing seems to be taking forever to complete, but with just me doing it, maybe it is going as it is going to go :)
Mowed the back yard and the front desert, does look better now, without the knee high weeds and dying grass! Laundry and watering what is still green out there just about rounds out the day. Had to shower as got all dusty and had dirt in places i don't want to know about. The mower has a bag on it, coming out the back, but still kicks up dust and bits and pieces all over the air and me!!!
So that is it, time to think about something for dinner, feed the dogs, read and a little TV and the day will be gone. It tried to rain, was overcast, but still warm out.

More of Sisters, aren't these poppies just glorious?
Love the color and shadows on them. Want to get some of them blown up to hang in my living room. the bright summery colors are something i think i could live with all year long.
And more quilts, how do they DO this where the quilts look like landscapes. can't get that somehow. They are just spectacular!!
If u have never been in the town of sisters, all the building, anyway the businesses in town are done like an old western town, false fronts and wooden fronts. Which look really good with the blankets in front of them. the Stitchin' Post, THE local quilt store has quilts hung on the front of their store most every day.

We are having a very slow day, leaving tomorrow, now that it is all over should probably left today, but when we were planning wanted an extra day in the area. so we are 'resting' don't know what from :-)
I went out and washed the rims on the RV and the front end, window and all and the car, was fun splashing about in the water, this afternoon when the sun moves around am going to put on some of the wax stuff i got and see if it makes it look shinery. Also put the seagull up again, not much wind and it is sort of hanging their, does not look too much like a real bird like that!
Think Luci and i will go for a walk.
Welcome new followers Gypsy Boho and Dean-o!!

Sisters Quilt Show

We left at about 10:30a to go the 1 mile to Sisters, and it took us about an hour!!! Traffic was backed up! They close the main street where hwy 20 goes thru and re-route traffic to the north of town. BUT we know to turn off to the left just b4 the entrance to town and go down Jefferson street a street that parallels hwy 20 and were lots of places to park. Once we got there, took pics of the mountains as we were waiting :)
This is a longer than normal post for me, with lots of pictures, but how can u have only a few...???
This is the back of some of the quilts, which are sometimes just as interesting as the fronts!
This is the end of the Stitchin Post where employees show their art. How do they do that? It is so beautiful. We went here to get t-shirts, posters, coffee cups- all the things one needs when going to the show...
This was a fav. love flowers! and this is a hard concept to quilt, so i am told, to put the squares 'on point'
This was one a woman made for her niece, all "The Beatles" it was great!
How do they DO this, it was more a wall hanging, but so wonderful, note the little pig to the left!
Once again they were all neat/wonderful to see, wonderful work, lots of work, and a joy to behold!!

Old Buildings

Found me some old buildings and odd trees...
Went to an estate sale and got some things i really needed! Missed out on the $5 hose tho, when i went back after scoping everything out, it was gone, but don't know how i would have carried it out anyway :-)
Beautiful clear day in the 70's!

Sisters Garden RV

Note the seagull kite in the foreground of 2nd picture, cool, huh?
Oh and not the little blue pickup, with all the dogs and wanting to go up to some of the creeks tomorrow, Deedee drove in my car behind me.
We are here for the World Renown Sisters Quilt Show on Saturday, but wanted to make a long week end of it, will leave Monday. just kicking back and relaxing... Bri will come get Carl tomorrow night, then things will be a bit calmer, and we will have more room. Poor thing he just can't help it, he is messy, thing RV will need a REAL cleaning after this week end. Dogs are being pretty good with all the foot traffic going by, they get much more upset when someone walks by the house.
This is a really nice park, we stayed here last year about this time, i think a week or so later. Used to be A KOA. All level sites, all asphalt and brick paver patios, picnic tables and fire pits, really green and flowers abound. It is nice and quiet, altho right next to hwy 20, it is not an interstate but there is alot of traffic, i think a bit more due to the festivities this week end.
It was in the 90's yesterday and today it is in the high 70's, so really nice, with a little coolness as we are a bit higher here than in Redmond.
It was good to be on the road, even for a short distance, but it was so short only about 45 miles, that i never got to settle down to a rhythm of driving, Normally takes about an hour to calm myself and get used to the difference from a car.
Everything is working a-ok, little fuss about the frig, as Deedee thought it should be be cool and it was NOT working, and it takes a while and there is no noise to it when running, but she would not believe that it would come along, just takes some time, and sure enough the freezer part after a couple hours was finally starting to get really cool....
Take Care and God Bless All
drive careful out there :-)

Got another load of stuff moved today, last of the dishes, bookcase and craft table, and it fits in the sun room where i wanted it to go, have been really lucky so far with things going into the spots i planned for them. Got things unloaded, then painted the tall dresser with 5 drawers that i got earlier, after i painted the bedroom, it no longer looked so good in there, so it is now distressed purple with ball crystal handles. Why is it every time i go to pick out drawer pulls, i end up having to have expensive ones, the $1.98 ones never quite do. and u have to live with those knobs/pulls for along time!
Then Carl got all rambuctious and had his body half out one of the fence slats, so had to fix that, the turd!!! Good thing he is built like a linebacker up front and has a big head or he would have been right out through that fence!!! He also could not get a purchase on the ground or fence with his hind legs, they were just peddling in mid air, while he hung there and barked. Geez, Louise... Not paying any attention to me, i swear he is partially deaf, just goes about his business most of the time like i don't even exist, does no good at all to yell, may as well save myself the irritation.

Forever May She Wave!

Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday dear friend Carol!!
Yes my Iowa friend was born on the 4th of July! She told me she was quite old, in 3rd or 5th grade before she realized that all the 4th hoopla was NOT really just for her birthday! What an exciting way to grow up tho, don't u think??

Floors & Paint

See my cute little hutch for the dishes
The kitchen & the sun room are a shade lighter than the living area
which u can kinda see in the pictures here and the hutch is a shade lighter yet
which worked out really good, it is not all matchy-matchy
U can also see the purple dvd tower i painted purple :)
It is cute....
Today got the micro-wave and a crock-pot, found i did not have one, have a little one in the RV. Got a roast and did that up today too, it turned out pretty good.
Had a hard time finding a place for the micro-wave, it fits, sorta to the left of the sink.
Am still arranging things, so that they are convenient, which is hard in a little space, makes one be creative. Canned goods in the utility room over the washer/dryer, crock pot in the garage for now when not in use. Have got to get shelving out there, to organize, but it will all come along, just have to be patient, which i am short of :)
Note Luci in the chair....
Isn't the floor great tho??? I am really, really happy with it!

Getting Close

To getting it all done... still have alot of 'craft' stuff left, and bookcases to transfer, got all the books here previously. The family came today and we got the stoves switched out, (of course each stove was hooked up differently, fortunately, my brother is a whiz at re-doing things to fit!!) have my frig in the garage. Couch is in the living room..all is well with the world.
Been having fits with a back problem, due to the continual lifting and being on my feet all day long, i am sure, yes, i know if i would but loose weight, it would not be so bad. Last night i went to bed like at 6pm on the heating pad, i am sure i am parboiled by now!!! But got up this morning and the ache was gone, had put some ice on it prior to that, about midnight woke in a total sweat, well, DUH, laying on a hot pad in the middle of the summer will do that, right? Ha! Today seems alot better, but have been mostly watching and directing, which i must say i am fairly good at :)
So, i am getting there and am really close to being done with this, moving cleaning scrubbing, it is amazing the dust and dirt after 7 years in one place......much to my chagrin.....
